After six years of service, the ice cream store recognized for its bubble waffles and pan-Asian flavors (corresponding to crimson bean, taro, lychee, Thai tea, Vietnamese espresso) closed on Monday, December 30, 2024. Bomb Bomb Bar-B-Q Grill
The longtime barbecue and Italian restaurant closed on Saturday, December 28, 2024, as a result of its house owners, Frank Barbato Junior and Deb Barbato, have retired. The family-run restaurant opened in 1951 by Frank’s father and mom, Frank Senior and Jeanie, who took over what had been Jimmy’s Tavern. 1026 Wolf Avenue, South Philly
Grace Tavern
The 20-year-old pub closed on Sunday, January 12, with no purpose given for the shutter. It was recognized for its late-night hours, burgers, beers, and pleasant ambiance. 2229 Grays Ferry Avenue, Southwest Heart Metropolis
Hawthornes Cafe + Bar
The 15-year-old all-day restaurant, bar, and beer/wine bottle store closed on Sunday, January 5. Co-owners Chris Fetfatzes and Heather Annechiarico shared on Instagram that they’d prefer to reopen the restaurant finally. However till then, Philly Voice studies that the duo simply reopened one in all their closed bars, Sunny’s Cocktail Joint, and is engaged on reopening Wine Dive (each locations shuttered in 2022 due to fireplace damages). 738 South eleventh Avenue, Bella Vista
Ultimo Espresso Roasters in Rittenhouse Sq.
The unionized Rittenhouse location of the espresso store mini-chain closed on Wednesday, January 22. Co-owners Aaron and Elizabeth Ultimo stated it was due to plumbing points relationship again to February 2024, as reported by Philadelphia Inquirer. Since that point, the placement needed to periodically quickly shut, which impacted its workers. The staff at this deal with was in the course of a three-year union contract, organized beneath Native 80. Winnie’s Manayunk
