Whenever you suppose “Philadelphia”, you would possibly consider two issues: its breathtaking murals and its die-hard love for the Eagles. With greater than 4,000 murals throughout town and an electrified fan base gearing up for the Tremendous Bowl, town’s pleasure is reaching a fever pitch.

That vitality now could be immortalized in a brand-new mural, unveiled Tuesday, Feb. 4, in a collaboration between Mural Arts Philadelphia and native artist Tiff Urquhart.

Positioned close to Broad and Alter streets, between Washington and Ellsworth in South Philly, the mural was delivered to life with the assistance of Mural Arts Philadelphia curator and challenge supervisor Conrad Benner (Streets Dept Partitions) and site companion The Del Borrello Group.

The mural includes a placing, colourful eagle, with Xs, Os, and arrows subtly included into the background — echoing a soccer playbook. Urquhart, recognized for her daring use of patterns and colours, aimed to seize town’s electrical spirit.
